Psalm 118:24
This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Yesterday I caught myself wishing that the day was over.  There wasn't anything that had happened during the day to make it a bad day.  I think I was mostly tired and hot getting laundry out of the dryer in the garage.  A quiet voice whispered, "This is the day the Lord has made."  How many times have I wished away time instead of savoring what God has given me that day?

I used to wish time would speed up as I watched my children growing, wishing for the first smile, step, word.  Too late I learned to enjoy moments with them, the time could never be replaced.  Time is now speeding by for me as I get older.  I need to appreciate the hours, minutes, moments that God plans for me.  How many places along my journey have I missed because I focused on a mile marker or destination?

Lord, I pray that you will help me to be more thankful for your graciousness in every moment.
